I am one of those people who love to garden not for the end result but for the birth of new life. I love spring with an undying passion. So much happens within those first few weeks, and if you blink you have missed it. Leaf buds begin to unfurl, bushy green foliage pops, and little shoots begin to emerge. This excites me to no end. Every day I peruse around the yard to see what is new, snapping pictures here and there to capture a moment, because as I said before, if you blink that moment is gone, lost to change. Thankfully, I was finally able to spend a full day out in the yard last Sunday. I spent the whole day sowing seeds, watering, pruning and cleaning out the rest of the flowerbeds. I even came inside later that night with my first sunburn of the season, evidence of a day well spent.

Last Sunday the buds on the trees were barely a wisp but within one week, they have burst forth small but perfect leaves that are already beginning to shade the yard. The oak tree is a little slow going, but that's ok. Violets are blossoming all over the yard, it is so nice to see their happy little faces! My Tulips have opened up to beautiful shades of pink and red and the magnolia's blossoms are starting to slip out of their fuzzy green sheaths.
